A Big Update

Well the project has slowed down a fair ol' bit recently because - well for the most part its done. That been said I am looking at upgrades and v3 'could' be in the offing - just normal life seems to be taking over at the moment. The article was published and looked very good as well although apart from one small spelling mistake that they made with it and the fact that two pages where missing I was very happy with the result. In both cases you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader how ever if you don't have it just download it. Right while we are on the subject its been drawn to my attention that a large number of images and text have been 'borrowed' for other sites. PLEASE don't - all of the text and images are copyrighted by their respective owners which for the most part is me how ever in some cases - i.e. where the pictures where published in the magazine I do not have that ownership now. If you wish to use any thing please either a) contact me directly first or b) link to my web site - which would be appreciated any way.
What else - I'm involved in looking at a CarPC application with the creator of the Talisman application. His is looking for a few beta testers how ever there are only a total of five places available - details here.
CNS have sent me a copy of the Maestro 2 software - I am currently in the middle of setting it up and will put a review on here for everybody else. The only disappointing thing at the moment is that they can only provide a Opel skin and not a Vauxhall one and in 640x480 as well, we'll see. That been said their screen shots do look promising therefore I probably will be pleasantly surprised
Contrast V2 ( my skin ) has had a soft launch recently. There are three new versions out in the wild - two for Media Engine including an exclusive ME version and a Vauxhall version and one for Carbox finished for me by its creator Sy.
Coming back to ME I have been given the beta version of the next release which includes Destinator as the chosen GPS app. To help use it I am almost finished in porting the Feb skin in to ME and its in full 16:9 wide screen or 848x480. I don't know when it will or the skin will b released how ever when they are I'll post some thing here.
Lastly because of the magazine article I have been able to found a new head for the car - a Kenwood KDC-W6527, full details are within the hardware section. Its a good unit how ever because I am using the standard speakers in the car it lack a tad of bass. So to rectify this I intend to buy a bass box - where from or what spec has yet to be decided. The new head mean I no longer need the FM modulator therefore improves the sound just that little bit more.
