Its out ! The Opus ITX DC to DC unit is now out and shipping. If your interested contact Kris at Opus and get your self one. There is a with and with out cables version and each one of those come with either a U-Frame ( Sort of a 3 way enclosure ) or as a PCB only version. Its the PCB only version I have just ordered. Its worth calling him because by the time you have done that you will save ( or at least I did ) on the Pay Pal fees.

should know if I am getting the Opus in the next 48hrs...

I should know if I am getting the Opus in the next 48hrs... If I do it will mean that I will be one of the first in the UK with this new device. There is new picture in the gallery showing it and the supplied cables. I also have a new add on for the CarPC - A full one Playstation One Emulator and it does work as shown by the screen shot here took on my rather basic laptop using nothing more than a 32Mb 3D card which is not defiantly needed, more info can be found at Next Gen Emulation. You can even buy USB hardware to adapt your Sony Playstation pad to your PC, it will even support the rumble pack.... how cool. More news when I know about the Opus.

Opus ITX DC 2 DC PSU

Well its so close, with luck the Opus ITX DC 2 DC PSU should be ready to ship from the states this Monday so I am just in the process of finalising the UK buy - I'm sorry before I get loads more but I can't take any more on now due to having the final costs now been in. On the good side, John Ferguson has kindly provided the On1 remote Girder script to make it with your Carpc. Click here to go down load it but do please find time and visit his site. If your in to Kit Cars you'll like his.

Started working on the Girder file for my new ON1 remote

Started working on the Girder file for my new ON1 remote... just need to work the shift button out here. If any one reading this has some Girder experience I would love to hear from you on this subject. The plan is to release it for everybody else to use as I know a number of you took up the remote control offer though this site.

First of all I have managed to get the unit inside the car and try it out for size

Hi all. A few bits of news for you. First of all I have managed to get the unit inside the car and try it out for size. I am very happy with it how ever it sticks out a little to far for my liking. I did start with the Dashmount sat mount how ever I now have changed my plan to see if I can do a vent mount. I will publish the pictures of how I got on in the gallery later this week. Lastly I am trying to get a little more information on RDS and TMC, if I get any where I will let you know how ever those in the EU should know how useful this would be.

I now have the first photo and specification sheet of the Opus ITX PSU

Curtsy of MP3car.com I now have the first photo and specification sheet of the Opus ITX PSU. Looking at it the unit seems about the size of the ITX DC mains powered board so suspect it will fit nicely there. Click here for the PDF file. Some one is currently looking at integrating Destinator 2 in to the new version of Media Engine, stick with this site here for the latest as and when. I also have bought a new mounting bracket for my screen. It will allow me to attach it to my dash with out any holes being drilled. I will post how I get on when it arrives but in the mean time surf to Dashmount to have a quick look. Lastly I have took a load of photos of my hard drive mod to try and make its ride a bit smoother - unfortunately I have not had time to do the full article yet so here's a finished picture to keep you going.
Off topic slightly, under 6 months of this mini site been online we are now getting around 200-300 visits ( not hits - there is a difference... ) a day which is around 6100 people a month and its growing at a rate of 1000 new visits a month. Thank you for your continued support and interest as well as all the emails I get. I love to hear from you all and I am very glad I can provide an interesting site for you. If you have any thing to add or have any suggestions please email me here.
Very lastly, this site has been featured in the Via Eden News letter this month. A copy of the article can be seen here.
