"single-function" modern PVR / HIFI / Home Entertainment Systems. Basic

I like Sky Plus - but I want more.
I want to be able to use one remote, watch a programme my system recorded
last week for me, surf the Internet, listen to that great dance station on
the net and more. More so I just wanted to do it and make and
entertainment system that not only looked like it should be part of my
home entertainment system ( with a 36" screen - 5.1 DTS / Dolby Digital TV
it is ). I can up with this plan after looking at Microsoft Media Center.
MS claim that they will not let it be sold as an off the shelf product
because the hardware requirements are so specific they would have a night
mare supporting it. I say if you can get hold of a legal copy ( having a
MSDN subscription is one way ) then do it. Although flawed it does show
potential and its certainly a fun project to complete.
