The Infomatics Project This free service provides a singular standard to access differently formatted data from a number of systems based on your current location and preference. Data types include TMC, traffic data, traffic flow, planed work, VMS sign info, road camera images, POIs, speed cams, weather, news and more.... NB: Although this will support the UK initially I will be looking at expanding it. Should you have any extra data streams for the UK or else where please contact me on the forums.
Web Based for CarPC / Touch Screen Access the Infomatics data through just a web browser and an Internet connection. The free web based system for the CarPC / Touch Screen has been designed where a mouse is not in use or not required. By clicking on the relevant button the screen can be controlled and show updated information or access a function. The data / map can be updated by using Fransons GPS gate allowing only relevant information to be displayed saving bandwidth.
This system is still be developed. Again based on the Infomatics engine it allows any one with a web browser and an Internet connection to view information for free. This version will have more complex options and interaction as it will be designed for use with a mouse.
Other Clients Other related clients and systems ( whether they use the Informatics system or not ) will be located here. Currently an Alpha version of an unnamed programme to access and display RSS feeds from the BBC traffic system is here.
