Car: Vauxhall Vectra C 2.2ltr SRi Auto - XPII ( Xpack ) ( Facelift )
As much as I wanted the VXR the amount of use, the type of driving I am doing now a days ( eg motorway ) and the credit crunch ( circa 2008 ) pushed me to re-evaluate what I wanted next. I was holding out the new Insignia arrived but having seen the preview pictures around the community I knew it would not be a car I would ever buy unless some thing amazing happened. ( Yep you heard right ).
But I still wanted a VXR because it actually made the Vectra C look good in the body kit it came with..... and then Vauxhall released the XPII. The XP ( or x-pack ) is basically the SRI with a body kit from the VXR on and some other trim items which means it is a cheap car to run compared to its bigger brother. Further more the version I have has the optional 19" wheels ( tbh it was a must for me ) which look better than the VXR's and have earned them the name 'snow flakes'. The XPII ( facelift ) is based on the new chasse designed for UK roads and boy is it nice even compared to the sports setup of the GSI ! The last item that sold it for me was the fact that all XPIIs come with colour nav not that I would use it in the long run but it did mean I had an external GPS aerial for my system already installed.
This particular XPII also has a 5 speed auto box which as I said before is ideal for my day to day driving but when I want that little extra control all I need to do is slide it over in the gate and I have a fully selectable manual box.
This particular car did not last that long after having major problems with it and spending just over three months in the local dealership I took it back to Nidd Vale where I bought it from and purchased a Saab 93.... which BTW is slightly more expensive than this car when it was new but has loads of extras, a better gear box and is actually the same car underneath.

Above is the VGA connection for the screen to be used at some point for the CarPC once I know how to.
Above you can see the FM and Sat aerial connections. FM is the white one and Sat Nav is the blue one. These for reference are called Fakra connections and are used extensively in the automotive industry
